Known as the Riviera of Portugal, on the coastal line of Lisbon, has become in recent years one of the most popular destinations for
international buyers. With the property market accounting for 15% of buyers from abroad it has made the market very buoyant, while still remaining one of the lowest prices per sqm in Europe.
Cascais turned from sleepy fishing village to much-loved summertime playground of wave-frolicking Lisbonites, international high flyers and tourism.
Its became international renowned during the Second World War as many heads of European royal houses and deposed monarchs, such as Edward VIII of the United Kingdom (at that time, Duke of Windsor) and Juan Carlos I of Spain (at the time, Infante of Spain) made their home, finding refuge here.

Cascais consistently ranked among the richest municipalities in Portugal and among the richest in the Iberian Peninsula. Due to its numerous resorts, estates, luxury shopping, and coastal nature, the area has been likened to the French and Italian Riviera's, from which it derives its name. Increasingly sought out by international high flyers and personalities, with Madonna a recent property owner to the area.

not forgetting the numerous beaches and a yacht marina, and the 'must have' of Lisbon only 15 minutes away with many well known high fashion boutiques, excellent restaurants run by top Chef’s, Gastro Bistro style eateries, and the abundance of Roof Top bars overlooking the scenic views over the capitol of 7 hills and the Tagus Estuary.

With the average 300 days of sun, and mild winters, and its safety, tourism has increased substantially, doubling from 2015 to 2016, and AirBnB bookings up 70% in the same period.
